About Us

Stockton Citizens Advice is the Citizens Advice service for the Borough of Stockton‑on‑Tees.

We are a Registered Charity and a proud member of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, delivering free, high‑quality advice and support to people who live or work in the local area.

Every day, we help individuals and families navigate complex issues, make informed decisions, and find practical solutions to the problems they face.

What We Do

We provide independent advice and information across a wide range of issues, helping people to understand their rights, responsibilities, and the options available to them.

Our work focuses on:

Supporting people at times of change or crisis
Helping individuals resolve problems before they escalate
Ensuring people are treated fairly and with dignity
Removing barriers that prevent people from accessing support

As well as helping individuals, we use our insight and evidence to influence social policy and service development, both locally and nationally, so that systems work better for everyone.

Our Aims

Our aims are:

To ensure that individuals do not suffer through a lack of knowledge. This includes understanding their rights and responsibilities, knowing what services are available to them, and being able to express their needs effectively.

To exercise a responsible influence on social policy and services. We do this by identifying trends and issues from our advice work and sharing evidence with decision‑makers to improve policies and services.
