Stockton Citizens Advice

Debt Self Referral

Welcome to Stockton & District Advice & Information Service. We are a free, confidential, and impartial service.

Debt is a legal liability or obligation to repay money owed to a person or organisation (creditor). It includes, but is not limited to, credit cards, loans, overdrafts, and arrears on essential household bills like rent, council tax, and utilities.

Please bear in mind that due to the extremely high demand for debt advice, there is a waiting time of up to five weeks before an appointment. If you need to speak to someone sooner than this, please try one of the following organisations who will be able to provide advice quicker – all of these numbers are free to call:

  • Citizens Advice Debt Helpline – 0800 240 4420 (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm)
  • National Debtline – 0808 808 4000 (Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm, Saturday 9:30am-1pm

If you complete the form below, we will endeavour to call you back as soon as possible. However, during times of high demand for debt advice, this could take several weeks.

The call will be made using a VOIP phone, so you won’t be able to call us back. Everything you tell us will be treated in absolute confidence and all records are stored securely. See Privacy Policy for more information.
